Happy Holiday High Adventure

WOW that was awesome.  In my opinion that was way too warm for December.  For all of you that did not go you missed out on a great time and wonderful scenery.

We climed in the cave that we could not find last year.

And the view sleeping under the stars was perfect!

WHAT IS THAT THING

Check out this video Mr. Gamble captured and watch the 362's scouts launch a hedgeapple around 200 feet with only some wood and rope (and concrete) that we designed and built from scratch.  The scouts next to us had the same design but were disqualified for using metal and screws.

This trebouchet  contest was a first for the Blue Elk District Camporee, and I hope we do more events like this.  Medieval Weaponry is cool!

We learned that a trebouchet is a lot like a catapult, but uses a counterweight instead of a spring.

Honor the veterans every day

The military men and women that are serving us now appreciate when they are recognized, and the survivors of the wars deserve to be thanked too. So thank you all the people that have served in a war and the ones serving now.  I hope you return safely to your home and family. Here is a tribute to all the branches of the armed forces.  Although it is belated for Veteran's Day, . . . I believe we should honor the veterans everyday!  (I'm looking forward to joining the Jaguar Pride next years, so I think this is really cool.)

A very special shout-out to recent Troop 362 Eagle Scout Alumni who are serving or have served in the military,  C. Storts and A. Martin.  Thanks guys for your service to our nation and for your example to us young scouts who are considering where we might be in the next few years.

(Thanks goes to my Grandpa R. , Sagamore Great Silent Shining Shooting Star, for sending me this link.)
